Disability
When you can’t work because you’re sick or injured — and it’s going to be more than a few days before you can get back — disability benefits help you financially, so you can focus on getting better.
Disability insurance provides income replacement should you become unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. The company provides eligible employees with disability coverage at no cost. Coverage is automatic; you don’t need to enroll. You will need to file a claim with New York Life to receive benefits.
Short-Term Disability
Illness: 100% of your eligible pay for weeks 2–6 after a seven-day waiting period. Then 75% of your eligible pay for weeks 7–26. You may use Paid Time Off to cover the waiting period.
Injury: 100% of your eligible pay for weeks 1–6, with no waiting period. Then 75% of your eligible pay for weeks 7–26.
If you live in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts or New York, you’ll receive Littelfuse STD benefits offset by the amount your state pays.
Long-Term Disability
After the 180-day waiting period — during which you receive short-term disability benefits — you can receive 60% of your monthly eligible pay, to a maximum of $12,000 per month.
Benefits are offset by other sources of income, such as Social Security and Workers’ Compensation.
