Health Savings Account (HSA)
A Health Savings Account belongs to you, and it’s paired with the BCBSIL HDHP + HSA Plan.
An HSA lets you make tax-free contributions that you can use to pay for current and future medical expenses for you and your dependents — and Littelfuse contributes to it as well.
How it Works
Start it. Contributions to an HSA are tax-free, whether they come from you or from Littelfuse. Littelfuse contributes $500 for individual coverage and $1,000 for family coverage. The HDHP plan costs less than the PPO, so the money you save on premiums can go into your HSA.
Build it. All of the money in your HSA is yours — including anything Littelfuse deposits — even if you leave your job, change plans or retire.
Use it. You can withdraw your money tax-free at any time, as long as you use it for qualified expenses. You can also save it and hold onto it for future health care costs.
Grow it. Unused money rolls over, earns interest and grows tax-free over time. When your balance is large enough, you can invest it — also tax-free.
